Abstract Objective: To describe the challenges pediatric dentists face while caring for their patients during the pandemic. Material and Methods: A descriptive qualitative study was conducted with purposefully sampled pediatric dentists. Data were collected through in-depth, semi-structured interviews until the content of the collected data reached theoretical saturation. Data were transcribed verbatim, coded, and analyzed using content analyses. Results: Seven participants (four females and three males) between 29 and 50 years participated in the study. Three themes emerged from the analyses: Anxiety and fear; PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and its impact on care delivery; and 3) Behavior management. Conclusion: Dental care delivery was challenging for pediatric dentists. They experienced high anxiety levels and modified their services according to the recommended guidelines while making accommodations to lessen patients' COVID-19-related anxiety. The additional mandated PPE use affected the communication between the dentists and their patients, affecting their dentist-patient bonding.

To report a case of twin reversal arterial perfusion sequence and its management by means of laser coagulation of the vascular malformation in the placenta. Twin reversed arterial perfusion sequence is a rare form of twin to twin transfusion syndrome occurring primarily in Monochorionic monoamniotic twins. The prevalence is about 1 in 35,000 pregnancies. The significance of this condition is that there is a normal foetus and an acardiac foetus. The blood is shunted from the normal twin to the acardiac twin through vascular malformations in the placenta. The normal twin faces a high risk of both morbidity and mortality due to cardiac failure. A case of twin reversal arterial perfusion sequence diagnosed at 22 weeks following a target scan underwent laser photocoagulation and gave birth vaginally at 30 weeks without any complications. Early detection of this condition can lead to timely intervention and thereby improve the outcome. In Twin reversal arterial perfusion sequence, the normal or the pump twin has a high chance of mortality due to cardiac failure. As the size of the acardiac twin increases, there is a higher chance of mortality of the pump twin. There is a need for regular follow up with ultrasonography and foetal echocardiography along with early therapeutic interventions to ensure the survival of the normal twin. In our case, despite the large size of the acardiac twin, we had a successful pregnancy outcome for the normal twin due to timely intervention.

Background and Objectives: Palmo-plantar psoriasis and dermatitis show several overlapping clinical features. We undertook this retrospective study to elucidate and compare the histological findings in these two dermatoses. Materials and Methods: Biopsies of 31 clinically diagnosed cases of palmo-plantar psoriasis and 24 cases of hyperkeratotic palmo-plantar dermatitis, with concomitant presence of representative lesions at other body sites, were retrieved and analysed. Results: Histologically, confluent parakeratosis, suprapapillary thinning and dermal edema were observed in significantly greater number of palmo-plantar psoriasis biopsies while an inflammatory infiltrate confined to the papillary dermis only, was a significant feature in palmo-plantar dermatitis. The two conditions could not be differentiated on the basis of features like focal parakeratosis, presence of neutrophils and fibrin globules in the stratum corneum, hypogranulosis, acanthosis, spongiosis, rete ridge pattern, or vascularity. Conclusion: Histopathology of palmo-plantar psoriasis and dermatitis can have several overlapping features. In our study, we found only few features as strong pointers towards psoriasis.

Taurodontism is an aberration of teeth that lacks the constriction at the level of the CEJ characterized by elongated pulp chambers and apical displacement of bifurcation or trifurcation of the roots, giving it a rectangular shape. Its occurrence in permanent teeth is common and is quite rare in deciduous dentition. Presented in this article are two cases with taurodontism involving deciduous and permanent molars.
